Topic: Managing Through the Perfect Storm Speaker: David Schwantes Have you ever had one of those projects where the odds seemed stacked against you, and managing to a successful outcome seemed out of reach? After digging into some hard facts reported in PMI’s Pulse of the Profession 2018, David will provide a refresher of the main components that make up a project, and a review of the Process Groups and Knowledge Areas, as outlined in the PMBOK sixth edition. He will also share a tried and true model for Group Development that will be familiar to many and is essential to understand in forming new teams. In an effort to make it all make sense, David will then overlay this framework on two very different actual projects, a short 30-day strategy engagement extreme example, and a 6-month Software Delivery project for a US Federal Agency more traditional.
