True Talks Live! Project Managers as Citizens

In this episode, we will take a classical look, from a Western cultural perspective, at what it means to be a citizen, with a focus on the Aristotelian perspective of participating in the political life of a community, the common good, and the importance of living a virtuous life as it relates to the individual and the state.  And we will hopefully come to an understanding as to how we as project managers that fulfil this ideal of the good citizen, from the perspective of the PMI organization's value system.

Guests: Chaira Blengini and Sarina Arcari

Chiara Blengini has been transitioning into Tech after many years as a postdoctoral researcher / lecturer in Ancient Philosophy at the University of Pavia, in Italy. In her previous avatar, Chiara researched Aristotle’s De Anima and has delved into such questions as how to define the soul, what is happiness and how to conceive of future contingencies. She deeply believes the tech sector could benefit from incorporating ethical considerations (such as privacy) and a human-centered perspective in both design and governance. After researching Aristotelian logic for so many years, she cannot live without structure and organization – skills that will come to her aid as a technology project manager.

Chiara is also literate in Ancient Greek, a long-forgotten language. It “ain’t Greek’ to her.
